Using the knowledge that they were able to acquire on the exact knowledge of celestial movements, they were able to create a highly accurate calendar. The Mayan Long Count calendar is set to end by December 2012 and when that happens the world will end. That’s what the believers of the Mayan doomsday prediction claim.

2. Solar Flares

The sun is normally a very violent celestial body that sends out tremendous amounts of energy into space. It is only because it is so far away that we do not feel its full force, but when these flares become strong our technology becomes affected.
